These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PriceLens mobile application ("App") operated by PriceLens ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using PriceLens, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PriceLens, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the App.

2. Description of Service

PriceLens is an AI-powered mobile application that provides travel price intelligence. The App allows users to scan prices of items abroad using their camera, voice, or photo uploads, and receive an AI-generated estimate of whether the price is fair, a great deal, or above the typical local average. The App also provides pre-trip price briefings, trip diary tracking, and suggestions for finding items cheaper nearby.

3. Price Verdicts — Important Disclaimer

• Actual local prices may vary significantly depending on location, season, vendor, negotiation, and prevailing market conditions
• PriceLens does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, currency, or timeliness of any price information provided
• You should use PriceLens as one of several tools when making purchasing decisions, not as the sole or primary basis for any financial decision
• We are not liable for any loss, expense, or damage incurred as a result of relying on price verdicts or any other information provided by the App

4. User Accounts

You may use PriceLens without creating an account. If you choose to create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at pricelensapp@gmail.com.

5. Subscriptions, Free Trial, and Payments

PriceLens offers a free tier with limited features and a Pro subscription with unlimited access. Subscriptions are processed and billed through Apple's App Store in accordance with Apple's payment terms.

• Subscription fees are charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan
• You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings or in the App Store on your device
• Free trial: If a free trial is offered, it will be clearly disclosed before you subscribe. You will not be charged during the free trial period. Your subscription begins and billing commences at the end of the free trial period unless you cancel before the trial ends.
• Unused portions of any free trial period are forfeited upon purchase of a subscription during the trial
• Refunds are handled solely in accordance with Apple's refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.

6. Free Tier Limitations

The free tier of PriceLens includes a limited number of scans, one trip, and one destination briefing. These limits are subject to change. We reserve the right to modify, restrict, or discontinue the free tier at any time with reasonable notice.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PriceLens only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable local, national, or international laws or regulations
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or extract source code from the App
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent price data through the App
• Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, overload, or impair our servers or systems
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App, our servers, or any system connected to the App
• Use automated means to access or scrape data from the App
• Interfere with any other user's enjoyment of the App

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of PriceLens — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, user interface design, and software — are the exclusive property of PriceLens and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.

9. User-Generated Content and Scan Data

When you submit scan data through PriceLens (including item names, prices, and verdicts), you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, store, process, and display that data in anonymised, aggregated form to operate and improve the App and its price database. You retain ownership of your personal data. We will not attribute anonymised scan data to you personally.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PriceLens and its founders, officers, employees, agents, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the claim, or (b) £50 GBP.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PriceLens and its founders, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to PriceLens at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms, for any conduct we deem harmful to other users or to our business, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your licence to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, disclaimer of warranties, and limitation of liability.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes have been posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

16. Apple App Store — Additional Required Terms

If you downloaded PriceLens from the Apple App Store, the following terms also apply:

• These Terms are a legal agreement between you and PriceLens only, and not with Apple Inc. Apple is not a party to these Terms.
• The licence granted to you is limited to a non-transferable licence to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
• Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App.
• In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and use of the App, including but not limited to: product liability claims; any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
• In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, Apple will not be responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, or discharge of any such claim.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
• You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a US Government embargo or that has been designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under any applicable law, such unenforceability or invalidity shall not render these Terms unenforceable or invalid as a whole, and such provisions shall be deleted without affecting the remaining provisions herein.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PriceLens with respect to the App and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings and agreements, whether written or oral, regarding the App.
